Emergency Management Specialists are detailed to the US Forest Service All Hazards and International Branch as wildland fire subject matter experts for multi-jurisdictional, multi-disciplinary NIMS implementation and operational liaison and coordination of federal firefighting resources with federal, state, local, and tribal agencies at the national and regional levels. Retired as a career chief fire officer, experienced in emergency planning, investigations, operations, administration, technology, and safety.

Diverse public sector and private industry backgrounds include over 30 years of line and management experience in fire, law enforcement, and emergency medical service disciplines, combined with engineering and consulting in the emergency communications and homeland security sectors. Special expertise includes emergency communications, incident management, Incident Command System instruction, exercise delivery, and legal roles. Demonstrated successful teamwork as an emergency responder, chief officer, incident commander, and planner.
